Child Safety Standards

Our position

Hobbymaxing has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Content that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a minor is prohibited, is removed when we find it, and is reported to the authorities. There are no exceptions and no warnings.

These standards describe what we prohibit, how we prevent it, how anyone can report it, and what we do when we receive a report.

1. Hobbymaxing is for adults only

Hobbymaxing is intended for people aged 18 and over. Our Terms of Service state this, every person must affirm they are 18 or older before using the app, and we do not knowingly allow accounts belonging to anyone under 18.

This matters more here than it would in an app that only hosts content, because Hobbymaxing can show people who share a hobby in the same city. Restricting the service to adults is the primary way we keep minors away from that.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.

2. What is prohibited

Our Terms of Service prohibit, and we remove:

This applies everywhere in the app: hobbies, descriptions, photos, posts, comments, resources, profiles and private messages.

3. How anyone can report it

Reporting is built into the app and needs no special access. Any signed-in person can report:

Anyone can also block another person, which stops all contact between the two accounts.

You do not need an account, and you do not need the app, to report CSAE to us. Email [email protected] with whatever detail you can give us and we will act on it.

4. What we do when we receive a report

Reports of child sexual abuse and exploitation are treated as the highest priority and are reviewed ahead of everything else.

5. Being honest about our scale

Hobbymaxing is operated by a small company. We do not currently run automated CSAE detection or image hashing, and we do not have a round-the-clock moderation team. We say so plainly rather than implying capabilities we do not have.

What we do have is a service restricted to adults, clear rules, reporting built into every surface where content appears, the ability to remove content and suspend accounts immediately, and a commitment to report CSAM to NCMEC. As Hobbymaxing grows, our detection and review capability will grow with it, and these standards will be updated to describe what actually exists at the time.
